If you’re lucky enough to have discretionary income, you may be tempted to save and invest as much as possible.

This is a good first instinct to have. You want to set yourself up better in the future so those financial woes never come back. You want to retire at a respectable age, so you make sure to stash some away.

It’s much better to save and invest “too much” than to spend it all away on dumb things.

But the impact of buying dumb things for your spirit shouldn’t be discounted.

Keep yourself sane — buy some dumb shit

Everybody loves dumb shit.

It’s human nature to spend our hard-earned money on things that make absolutely no sense. But, as smart and developed as our big human brains are, there’s still something monkey-like inside of us that loves the shiny object.

I have a crippling addiction to Pokemon cards. I’ve written about it many times in recent months.
