The Waiting Game
Waiting is hard. But it’s right.

It’s just hard sometimes. You wake up and live life like normal. The everyday stresses presented to you by school, work, and family keep your mind busy. Sometimes you can sit and reflect on you, but most of the time you’re just moving too fast.
You’re not sure if you want a relationship. You know it would be good for you but you’ve got so much going on. You’re about to start a new chapter in life. Maybe it would be good to focus on you for now and see what happens later.
Then you meet someone. It’s not much at first, but you like having them around. You start talking more and realize how fond of them you are. You want them around more. Maybe you like them. Maybe you’d date them. You wish you knew how they felt even though you don’t really know how you feel.
But you start thinking ahead because it’s impossible for you not to. You don’t know what’s ahead and that’s kind of scary. Will you learn something you don’t like? Will she? Will you get a job somewhere else? Will you meet someone else? Will she?
You want something to happen now but you also want to keep things slow. It’s a battle of the heart and mind.
Living in the moment is hard. But you have no other choice. The chance of something happening tomorrow makes up for the struggle of today.
