Card collectors are always searching for new ways to determine whether a sealed product has a hit inside.

For years, the top strategy was weighing packs. Like, literally weighing the pack. Heavier packs have holographic cards inside, meaning there is a much higher chance of finding a valuable card.

At card shows, vendors will often sell “heavy packs” for a higher price.

Well, a company is now offering a new service to determine whether a sealed product has a chase card inside: sending it through a CT scanner.

The company, Industrial Inspection, will send your packs through a CT scanner, which creates a 3D model of what’s inside.

Thanks to the textured surface of holographic cards, a CT scan will not only reveal whether or not there is a holo card inside the pack, but even what the holo is.

For people scanning older packs, this reveal could net a huge return.

This is not a cheap service, so customers should chose their packs wisely. Industrial Inspection charges $65 per pack if you send in 11 packs or more, $70 per pack for 6–10 packs, and $75 for 1–5 packs.
