It’s OK That She Doesn’t Want You

You’ll be happy you had this opportunity to grow instead

I thought I got a lot better at handling heartbreak.

The worst thing a girl can tell you is, “I’m not ready… yet.”

The hope lingers. You wait for an end that is entirely unlikely to come.

Why is it unlikely? Time changes situations. Just like a tide chips away at the beach or a storm breaks the face of a mountain, new elements can change your relationship.

She could “take a break” from talking to you for a while as she finds herself. She could have great intentions to give you a fair shot once she’s in a better spot, a few months down the line.

Then she meets a new guy. And he’s everything she ever wanted. So she gives him a shot.

Can you blame her? She had her reasons for pushing you to the side. You were promised nothing. Then she found someone else.

It’s life. It keeps moving. It owes nothing. It ends up in the right place.

But knowing that doesn’t make it hurt any less.

After getting back from a long tour, I took a nice young lady that I had been talking to on and off for the prior ~9 months to a show. We went on a few dates before I headed out west for a month…
